A person encouraged her friend, who needed food, to get food from one of the Network pantries. Her friend was reluctant to ask for food, and didn’t want to go to a pantry. However, she finally decided to ask for help and with the help of the EFPN coordinator was scheduled to pick up food from a pantry. She was totally surprised that she was treated so kindly and so politely, and that she could choose the food she needed for her family.
To those who have given time and contributions to the food pantry —
I never thought that I would be on the “needing” end of this service, but here I find myself going through one of God’s tests for me. It has been difficult to remain positive during this time. The other day I stepped into the food pantry to discover overwhelming generosity and kind, non-judging people there more than willing to help me out. I am overflowing with emotion and grateful that I live in a community like this, who is so willing to take care of those who are needing. I cannot even begin to express how much this means to me and my family. I hope that someday soon I will be past this “test” from God and will be able to return the kindness that has been shown to me. Thank you so much. I never understood how much giving a little meant until now that I’ve found myself needing help. This is certainly a lesson I will never forget . . . Perhaps part of God’s plan?
I just want to extend a thank you to the Coleman Food Pantry. Today I was referred to them from the Commodities Project. That was at 8:30 this morning. By 4:00 p.m. this afternoon I had received boxes of food and household items. That was totally unexpected and fast. Than you once again for helping out my family during this tough time.
Dear S.A.M.S. Pantry,
I wanted to write to you to say thank you. I am overwhelmed at the generosity that you have shown my family When my wife told me that we were going to be getting some food from you I thought it was going to be some canned goods and the like. I had no idea that we would be getting as much as we did. We received essentials like soap and toothpaste, dish soap and laundry soap. I was amazed.
I have never been in the position that I'm in right now, where I can't support my family, and it's really hard for me to ask for help when I need it. When I went there, I felt welcome, and it was a pleasant experience (as much as it can be when you're broke anyway).
My main goal use to be to provide for my family. I now have a second goal that goes below that one. When my family and I get back on our feet, I'm going to make sure that we donate as much as we can to you. Those are now my two primary goals. Again, thank you so much for everything. Midland has truly been blessed by having you here.
Thank you all so much for your generous help with groceries, toiletries and even birthday supplies for our son! We are very grateful!
Thank you for all the food from your pantry and the cash gift card for meat. Sometimes it's very difficult to ask for help, but I feel blessed by your kindness to me. The Target Gift Card (from Sharing Tree donation) brought me some much need new anklets to keep my cold feet warm.
I wanted to send a special thank you for helping our family. My husband was laid off for the second time in less than a year. Your help with the food basket was wonderful. Because we are on such a tight budget, I don’t buy some of the extras – my kids were thrilled to see cake mixes, especially a brownie mix – fudge brownies are a family favorite - and the older children argued over who was going to get the new tooth brush that came with the toothpaste!
We are a Christian family, and we don’t take the Lord’s blessings lightly. We know He has provided once before, and He will again. We got wonderful news yesterday that my husband will be able to return to a job in the health care field from a couple years ago!
Thank you again for doing God’s work!
Hi, I am 91 years old. I have went through wars, depression, and wealth. Now I wonder what is going to happen to this wonderful world. I just wanted to let you know that I have never been treated so wonderfully. I never had such wonderful food and I want to thank everyone and God Bless everyone who helped.
To everyone involved at the food pantry,
Thank you so very much for all that you do. I used your food pantry once before. I think it was over a year ago. My son and I were so greatly blessed by the items that we received and the gift coupons. I am going to thank you ahead of time this time. God Bless All of you and all that you do. He is definitely blessing the work of your hands!
Dear Pantry Keepers,
Thank you so much for your kind work of service. My children were so excited to get such a nice variety of food. I was glad to see them so happy.
God bless you all.
Dear Food Pantry Representative:
My family and I are writing this letter just to give a special thanks to Memorial Presbyterian Church and all who have contributed.
Las week, my family was helped by the your church with gift certificates for Kroger store to purchase items needed as well a bags of canned goods and other foods. This was a great help to our family in the time of need. Our family required assistance due to having to pay on hospital bills, medications, and other expenses that we are having some difficulty with.
We would all like to give a special thanks and let you all know how much the church is appreciate for their assistance in this matter.
We just wanted to say how grateful we are for your much needed helping hands – “God Bless” each of you at “Memorial” for all you have done for our family.
We would have starved and been homeless were it not for your caring many times.
We wish you many blessings in return.
Thank You Very Much!
P. S. We will repay memorial someday.
To the church and members,
I am a caregiver for a very ill gentleman, as well as me, myself having heart and other ills. I wish to thank you on his and my behalf. Your help with food and gift certificates allows us to live life with laundry soap, bleach, dish soap, Goodwill clothing and the ability to live an easier life. We appreciate all of your help and caring.
This 25 cent card is not much, but the Lord has told me to do this. In my heart, I know all of you are directed by the Lord, and I pray for all of you for health, happiness and all good for each and every one of you.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
My friend and I are currently members of 1016 Treatment Center. My friend is scheduled to leave tomorrow and I have at least two weeks left. So we are new to recovery and finances are very slim. We needed personal needs products and my friend needed food to begin her new way of life. The donations that were given from the food pantry and Christmas bundles (Sharing Tree) helped to supply us with our needs. You have done much to restore my faith in human goodness and the blessings of God more than I can say. Thank you so very much.
